I have had a long holiday break from the blog...there are many things going on in the Church to blog about. Here is a collection of thoughts for the new year.
- We are moving back to Block House Creek Elementary beginning January 20th. With the move we are changing the Sunday morning worship experience. Beginning at 9:30 is Sunday School and Small Groups for all ages. Then at 10:30 -10:45 is a time for fellowship and we begin Sunday morning worship service at 10:45. This new schedule promises to be a new and exciting way to grow in our faith and share the Good News.
- The United Methodist Women met earlier month to set their calendar of events for the year. Events include a father/daughter breakfast in February and a Silent Auction in the spring. You can contact Michelle Peterson for more information. Also, check out the Good News UMC online calendar for a full schedule of events.
- The Good News Men's group is forming. We held our first meeting this past week and will be meeting on a monthly basis on the first Saturday of each month at 7:00am. In these meetings the group have breakfast, review and plan events for the coming months and invite speakers to share their stories and experience with our group. Watch the church newsletter and online calendar for schedule of events. You can contact Jim Esch for more information.
- Put me in coach. I'm ready to play...Softball season is not to far away. The Good News Bears is a coed softball team and would like to invite anyone who would like to play this spring. This should be a great opportunity for exercise, fellowship and families being together. You can contact Jim Esch for more information.
- We are in the Season of Epiphany and I have a new appreciation for the Twelve Days of Christmas. For years I have sang this song never knowing what the twelve days of Christmas really are. The twelve days of Christmas is the period of December 26th to January 6th with January 6th being the first day of Epiphany. I did a Google search on the Twelve Days of Christmas and found some interesting information. This link was my favorite.
My new year's resolution is to post often...or find those to post for me :).
May the peace of the Lord be with you always!
